The Care Quality Commission is the regulator of health and social care in England. In its latest report, the CQC commented:
‘The family member we spoke with told us “We have had fantastic support from the staff at the home; all the girls are excellent with the residents”.’
‘All the people we spoke with said that they were treated with respect; one person said “I am treated with great respect”.’
‘People were protected from unsafe or unsuitable equipment and lived in a comfortable and well maintained home. ’
‘We also observed the care workers respecting the people’s dignity and supporting people with choices to maintain their independence.’
‘Everyone we spoke with said that the care workers were very caring and that they were well looked after. One person said “The staff are kind; nothing is too much trouble”.’
‘One person told us the home had excellent cooks; “I always have two poached eggs every morning and they are cooked just as I like them”.’
